Malta issues €100 Diving Vouchers

The Malta Tourism 2021 Incentive to attract visiting Scuba Divers to Malta this Summer.

We are excited with the announcement that the Malta Tourism Authority have launched a recovery incentive package to help the Maltese diving Industry. This incentive is aimed at divers looking to visit Malta to enjoy some great diving with us this Summer!
The Malta diving Industry, as with all tourism dependent businesses, has been very hard hit by the decline in incoming tourists since the start of the COVID19 pandemic.
This Support Towards Scuba Diving Tourism in the Maltese Islands, will help to kickstart our economy by seeing divers returning to our shores.

This scheme which has been allocated a total fund of €750,000. This will be in the form of €100 vouchers to be issued to divers who are planning to visit Malta as from June 2021.
Divers need to apply for these voucher online. These diving vouchers can then be redeemed against any scuba diving related service at Maltaqua when you are in Malta! It's Super easy!
Scuba related services include, escorted diving, any PADI or BSAC diver training as well as rental of dive equipment.

Malta has long been a diving hotspot for divers of all levels, so this offer is sure to be grabbed up fast.
Since these vouchers are being offered on a first come basis, you will only be able to apply for one while funds are still available. 
We highly recommend applying for your voucher as soon as you can provide proof of your flight tickets to Malta, which is a requirement to apply.
Conditions for these vouchers: You need to show proof of your Flight tickets ( both ways) and you need to insert your passport details.

ComMAC Accreditation

Military Expeditions & Adventurous Sub Aqua Training for HM Forces

Maltaqua is an accredited Commercial MoD Approved Centre ( ComMAC) authorised to provide BSAC Diver training to HM Forces.

As the British Sub Aqua Club ( BSAC) Centre of Excellence 0007,  we offer “Adventurous diver training packages”: to include BSAC Ocean and BSAC Sports Diver certification courses, including Instruction, equipment hire, road transportation and apartment accommodation.
For Military Expedition organisers looking to complete diver training using their own Instructors, we  offer an “Expedition Support package” which includes local transport and support, classroom facilities, equipment rental and accommodation.

Our Adventurous Sub Aqua Training packages as well as our Expedition Support packages are offered all year round based on availability at the time of booking.

Malta Short Winter Dive Break 2025/6

Head to Malta for a Winter dive break!
Our short winter dive break offers run from 1st November 2025 until the end of April 2026 and provide great value diving packages for single travellers as well as dive groups.
If you are only able to travel to Malta for 4 nights you and enjoy 6 dives over 3 days.
We recommend aiming for late afternoon return flights to allow for the 18 hours surface interval you need prior to your return flight home.

Our winter dive packages include, escorted dives, guided by one of our Instructors, plus accommodation in Sands apartments just 100m away from Maltaqua.
We even provide a welcome breakfast package for your first morning!
If you want to travel light you can rent a full dive gear from us. Our winter rental suits are the Fourth Element Helios 7mm suits, providing warm comfort for your diving.
The sea temperatures in November to December will still be 22C, the lowest temperature will be 14C  by the end of January.
The visibility will be between 15 - 25m and the sea life can be better than the summer months, with less divers at the dive sites.

Prices for our short dive breaks start at just €380 per person for a 4 night stay.

Want to travel and see the world?

Becoming a PADI Instructor is a great way to see the world while doing what you love most..Scuba Diving.

Who is a PADI Instructor? A PADI instructor can be someone from all walks of life. Thats what makes Scuba Instructors so different and interesting.
From the 20 year old who is taking a gap year to travel the world, working as a dive Instructor to finance the Adventure, to the 55 year old retired professional, who decides enough is enough and its now high time I start enjoying myself by doing something I love. It may be a diver who loves what she does and is ready to take a huge leap by opening her own dive school!
The one thing all PADI professionals have in common is the love for the Sea.

At Maltaqua our PADI Instructor training courses start as soon as you enrol on one of our courses!
The theory for this course is completed online, so can start straight away on the theory. The practical part of your course is run over an 7 day period, with the next PADI Instructor training course starting on 23 April 2025.
Whatever your background or your nationality we will teach you the skills you need to become a PADI Professional .Expect a very intense, hard but rewarding few days! You will need to be very focused and physically fit!  As a PADI Instructor you will be responsible for others in the water, so you need to be a very confident diver yourself, in great physical shape with the right mind set needed to take on this responsibility.

As a PADI Instructor you will be teaching all ages, and students of different abilities, so you need to be able to adapt and handle different situations in a professional but fun way. After all your students are doing this for Fun! 

Our aim is to not only help you become a PADI Instructor we want you to become a GREAT one!

Learn to Dive in Malta over Winter

We often get asked, "Is it too cold to Learn to dive in Malta in November?" or 'Do you offer Scuba lessons in December?' 
YES, YES! It is possible to Learn to Dive all year round on Malta.
Our winter sea conditions still allow for scuba diving.
The sea temperature will slowly start to decrease in mid December reaching 19C just after the Christmas holidays.

We close for staff holidays between the 16th December and the 30th January, so please take this into account when booking your travel dates.

We change to warmer winter wetsuits around November, so you are certain to feel comfortable all through our winter dive season, which starts November through to March.
Our rental suits are the best on the market, the Fourth Element Helios 7mm  suits, providing comfortable warm insulation for our winter sea temperatures, so there is no reason not to take the plunge!
Our Learn to Dive value packages, include; Apartment Accommodation, The PADI Open Water Course, dive equipment rental, and road transport to the dive sites.
The only item you need to sort out is flights, and with so many Carriers offering daily flights to Malta, you are sure to grab a good deal.
Single travellers are most welcome. We do not need a minimum number of persons to run our Learn to Dive classes, which can be booked to start on any weekday!

PADI Technical Instructor Training Event Malta

September 4th - 12th 2019

We will be running a full range of PADI Technical Instructor training courses during the period 4th to12th September. This event is specifically aimed at Diving Instructors who want to be able to offer their students technical training, be it just to challenge themselves and try something new, or with the aim to explore some deeper wrecks. Course Director and Technical Instructor Trainer Gary Mawston will be spending 2 weeks conducting Instructor training, so whatever your level of technical diving, you can join a range of courses to learn the skills needed and gain the qualifiaction required to teach your divers.

Courses: Tec Deep Instructor, Tec trimix Instructor, Tec Sidemount Instructor, as well as Gas Blending Instructor.
Accommodation is also available during this period.
